*CORNELIUS ‘BUD’ LINDHOLM JR, Lehigh ’45, is the answer to the Trivia Question of “What were the earliest roots of the ‘Beat The Streets’ movement to promote wrestling to under-served urban youth?” Bud’s tireless 1-man grass roots efforts calling for corporate support have helped spawn today a national Beat the Streets USA Wrestling Program with 16 urban chapters in 15 states from New York to California and Rhode Island to Florida.  Lindholm was dubbed the “Father of Berks County Wrestling,” after creating the first-ever Schoolboy Wrestling Tournament in the Reading area in 1957. 

      As a wrestler, Bud had a 9-1 record as a senior who swept three EIWA bouts vs. Penn, Penn State and Army to claim the league’s Outstanding Wrestler Award, one of just two Engineers to win it since initiated in 1936. Lindholm’s career mark was 15-5, with a dual record of 12-3. Born in Seattle, ‘Bud’ died suddenly of a heart attack in March, 1984, less than a month after attending his ‘umpteenth’ EIWA tournament.
