      BRANDON SLAY is Penn's only Olympic medalist, a 2000 Olympic champion. Arriving in 1993, he helped led the Quakers to their first-ever Ivy team title, became Penn’s first NCAA finalist since 1942 – and repeated in ’97. Four time all-Ivy, Brandon placed EIWA 3,2,1,1. In 1994-95, he took a year off and won national freestyle and greco titles.  He became 1997 EIWA Wrestler of the Year and was the first Quaker to win 100 bouts, finishing with 110 (still sixth). His 33 wins in 1997 was a record, now ninth.
      Brandon was a two-time University National Freestyle champion. After placing sixth in 1999 at the U.S. National Open, he was the OW at the 2000 event.  Slay currently is the Assistant National Freestyle Coach and National Freestyle Resident Coach for USA Wrestling at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Brandon founded started an organization, Greater Gold, to help youth reach their academic and athletic potential through religion. He speaks nationally to schools, youth groups, churches and businesses. A 1998 finance graduate of The Wharton School, he’s a native of Amarillo, TX and formerly worked in commercial real estate at Stream Realty Partners in Dallas.
