PETER YOZZO, Lehigh
‘87 was a four-time EIWA finalist with three
titles at 142 for Lehigh, including the Fletcher Trophy and the
Outstanding Wrestling Award in '85 and '86. His only EIWA
loss came as a freshman against NCAA runner-up, John Orr of
Princeton. A Junior National Freestyle Champion, and a
NY state champion, Yozzo placed 3rd and 2nd nationally for Lehigh
before scoring an NCAA finals win by fall in 1987 over 2-time
NCAA champ, Pat Santoro.
In four years, Yozzo tied or
defeated five National champions and won 15-10 in the 1986 All-Star
Classic over a defending NCAA champion. Pete's record over his
final three years was 82-5-2 and was nicknamed "The Wizard of Yoz
for his exciting takedown style. Yozzo is currently coaching
a local high school wrestling team and has Co-Founded the Mindshare
Group, offering outsourced human resources to
California companies. Previously he was CEO and founder of
BlaiseIT, a NY-based software company. He and wife, Laura,
live in Pleasanton, CA.
