PHILADELPHIA – The 18th-ranked University of Pennsylvania wrestling team sent its senior's out with a 25-9 victory over American on Sunday afternoon at The Palestra. #30
Cole Urbas secured the first period pin to give the home team all the points needed for the season finale victory.

Anthony Artalona opened the bout with a pair of first period takedowns to lead 4-1. With an escape in the second period and a point for riding time, the senior gave the Red and Blue an early 3-0 lead with a 6-2 decision win. After a scoreless first period, #32
Lucas Revano tied the bout with a pair of escapes in the second period and with the bout tied 4-4 after the third period, Revano and Caleb Campos went to overtime. Revano needed just 31 seconds of overtime to secure the takedown for the 6-4 win and a 6-0 lead for the Quakers.
A 9-5 decision win for American's Lucas White over #10
Nick Incontrera got the Eagles on the board. Penn bounced back with three straight wins at 184, 197, and 285 to take a 18-3 lead over American.
Maximus Hale used a first period takedown to jump out to a 3-1 lead and extended his lead to 7-1 after the first two periods. As he built up his riding time he added three more points to the Quakers team score with an 8-2 decision over Carsten Rawls. Urbas ended the first half sooner than the visitors wanted as he pinned Connor Bourne in the first period to give Penn its first of two bonus point wins on the day.

Ben Goldin wasted no time as he used a takedown in the first period to lead 2-1. Goldin took a 3-1 lead with an escape early in the second period and after a takedown by his opponent, the bout was tied 3-3 after five minutes. Goldin had secured over 90 seconds of riding time after the first period but Will Jarrell cut that time down under a minute. Jarrell took a 4-3 lead early in the third period with an escape. Goldin went to work in the third period as he built his riding time back up over a minute and secured a takedown in the final minute that was challenged by the American coaches. After review the referees announced the call stood and Goldin lead 5-4. Shortly after the review, Jarrell was able to get an escape to tie the bout at 5-5. With riding time back over a minute for Goldin he secured the 6-5 win by decision.
American used a pair of decisions at 125 and 133 to cut the Penn lead to just nine points at 18-9.
Carmen Ferrante took a 2-1 lead after the first period and extended his lead to 5-3 after the second period. With riding time secured, Ferrante won by a 6-3 decision to give the Red and Blue a 21-9 lead with one bout remaining.
Vince Mannella made the start at 149 for the Quakers and wasted no time as he jumped out to an early lead with an impressive takedown. Leading 4-0 after the second period, Mannella used a pair of third period takedowns and the point for riding time to secure the major decision win.
With the 25-9 victory, Penn closes out the regular season with seven wins in its final eight duals of the season.
