Hempstead, NY - Hofstra won seven of 10 weight classes with Ross McFarland scoring a win by fall, and Jurius Clark Jake Slotnick, and Keaton Kluever picking up major decisions as the Pride extended their winning streak to three matches with a 27-9 victory over Edinboro at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center Friday night. Hofstra improved to 3-2 on the season while the Fighting Scots dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

The visitors won two of the first three weights, starting with a Caleb Edwards victory over the Pride's Dylan Acevedo, 7-1, at 125 pounds. Dylan Ryder evened the match for the Pride with a 9-3 decision over Jacob Brenneman at 133. Ryder jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first period, scoring a takedown and a four-point nearfall. He added two escapes in the second period around a Brenneman takedown to win his sixth match of the season and third straight.

The Fighting Scots picked up an 8-1 win at 141 as Anthony Ferraro defeated Alex Turley. However, Noah Tapia started a five-bout win streak for the Pride with a 6-2 decision over Colin Roberts at 149 pounds. The Hofstra freshman scored a takedown in the first period and led 3-1. He extended the lead to 6-1 in the second following an escape and two stall warning points. Roberts had a third period escape to close the scoring.

Clark broke a 6-6 team match score with his 10-1 major decision at 157 pounds over Steffan Lynch. Following a scoreless first period, Clark started the second on top and picked up a four-point nearfall. Beginning on the bottom in the third, the Hofstra sophomore scored a reversal and then added a takedown and the riding time point for the bonus point win for a 10-6 Hofstra lead. Clark has now won six matches in a row. Slotnick, who hadn't wrestled in more than a month, put on a clinic at 165 pounds to earn a 17-7 win over Max Kirby. The freshman had four takedowns, two reversals and the riding time point for his highest scoring output of the season. The win put Hofstra on top by a 14-6 score.

McFarland quickly made it a 20-6 match as he won by fall in 57 seconds over Joey Arnold at 174 pounds. He scored a takedown 30 seconds into the match before turning Arnold onto his back after 27 seconds of riding time. Will Conlon followed with a 7-2 decision over Brody Evans at 184 pounds to give the Pride a 23-6 lead. The freshman scored a third period escape and a takedown to extend a 3-1 lead to 7-1 before an Evans escape in the waning seconds capped the scoring.

Edinboro halted the Pride's winning ways at 197 pounds as Jack Kilner posted a 4-1 sudden victory win over Nikolas Miller. The pair were deadlocked at one following a pair of escapes through three periods. However, with 18 seconds remaining in the extra period, Kilner was able to secure a takedown for the win. Kluever ended the match with a 15-4 major decision over Nick Lodato at 285 pounds. The Hofstra graduate student, who is ranked No. 21 in the nation, had two takedowns in the first period to build a 6-2 lead. He led 10-3 after two periods and then added a fourth takedown, a stall point and the riding time point to get the bonus point win and send Hofstra into the break with a victory.
