PRINCETON, NJ - Decisions by Ibrahim Ameer and Santino Morina in the final two bouts lifted the Drexel wrestling team to its first EIWA victory of the year, over Princeton, 20-15 on Friday night. Jordan Soriano, Dom Findora, Cody Walsh, Jasiah Queen, Ameer, and Morina all took home victories in a full-team effort for the program's seventh all-time defeat of the Tigers.

Princeton claimed bonus point wins at 125 and 133 to jump out to an early 9-0 advantage. Jordan Soriano looked to stop Princeton's run in the third match. The sophomore battled with Tyler Vazquez as the bout was tied at one early in the third period after both wrestlers escaped from the bottom. Soriano was successful on a single-leg takedown with 41 seconds left to stay undefeated in dual action.

Dom Findora took a commanding 6-1 lead after two takedowns in the opening three minutes. The redshirt freshman earned three more takedowns and a reversal in the second period for his third technical fall of the season. Drexel trailed 9-8 with six matches to go. The Tigers stayed in front with a victory at 157lbs.

Cody Walsh showed his veteran presence with a 5-0 decision with over three minutes of riding time. Jasiah Queen earned the start for Drexel at 174lbs. He scored the first points of the match on a takedown for a 3-1 lead entering the third period. Queen added four to his total for his first college dual victory which gave Drexel its first lead of the night, 14-12 with three classes to go.

Justin Griffith battled with No. 21 Nate Dugan but fell by decision, 8-2. After video review, the true freshman was able to hold the Tigers from earning a takedown in the final seconds, which would have given Dugan a bonus point victory. At 197lbs, following a clean sheet in the first period, Ameer was down 2-0 after a Princeton reversal. The junior was successful on a single leg shot with under ten seconds left and was able to score a takedown on a double to beat the buzzer. The Dragons reclaimed the lead, 17-15.

The final bout saw the entire gym on the edge of their seats as the bout was tied at one, early in the third period. Morina showed his defensive skills as he was able to hold Garibaldi from scoring the go-ahead takedown with 1:40 left. The redshirt senior found his offense with 25 seconds to go as he took a low shot and was able to earn the walk-off for the Dragons.
