FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team couldn't sustain the early momentum in its EIWA match against Binghamton. The Pioneers fell, 39-7, to the Bearcats on Saturday.
In the conference opener for both teams, the Pioneers fall to 1-2 while the Bearcats improved to 3-5.
Kyle Randall picked up four near fall points in the first and second periods on his way to a 15-4 major decision over Nick Curley at 125 pounds. Binghamton won the next three bouts before
Nick Palumbo came through with a win at 157 pounds. Riding time was the difference in the match as the senior beat Tyler Martin, 2-1.
Binghamton captured the last five matches to secure the team victory.
SHU returns to action January 7 when it travels to the David Lehman Open.
