PHILADELPHIA – The #19 University of Pennsylvania wrestling team fought hard in The Palestra on Friday night, taking three bouts before falling 22-13 to #3 Iowa.

Maximus Hale (184) won their matches against the top five Hawkeyes in the dual meet opener to highlight Penn's performance tonight.
Colaiocco opened his bout against Iowa's Jace Rhodes with a takedown mid-first period to take the lead 3-0 heading into the second. The #8 senior tallied escape an escape in the second and third to win the match over Rhodes by decision, 5-0.
#10 Incontrera recorded three straight takedowns over #9 Patrick Kennedy to win his bout, 10-2. The first ended in a draw, with Incontrera almost getting a takedown to end the period. The junior carried his momentum into the second, earning a point from an escape to break the tie, then taking down Kennedy to lead 4-0. Incontrera went on to record back-to-back takedowns to take the match over #9 Kennedy by major decision.
#32 Hale won Penn's final bout in the meet, taking down Aiden Riggins by fall in 1:55. The junior opened the match with a quick takedown and then pinned Riggins to take the match in the first period.

Cole Urbas made their season debuts in new weight classes tonight, with Revano competing in the 165 bout and Urbas grappling in the 285.

Martin Cosgrove (197) almost made a comeback in his bout against #22 Zach Glazier as the Hawkeyes took an early 6-1 lead in the match. Cosgrove rallied, tallying a takedown in the second to cut the lead to 6-5. #22 Glazier eventually prevailed to take the bout by decision, 9-5.
