WASHINGTON - The day ended with a win for American University wrestling as the Eagles split home duals against Drexel and Morgan State. The Dragons defeated AU in the early match, 31-6, but AU rebounded with a 29-13 win over Morgan State that included five bonus-point victories.

Notable

• In the early match against Drexel, freshman Kaden Milheim was the first to put points on the board for the Eagles at 157 pounds with a late takedown in the third period for 3-1 win over Tyler Williams.
• Later, Milheim made it a 2-0 day when he allowed just a single escape in a 10-1 major decision against Morgan State's Josh Greenwood. 
• The other Eagle to go undefeated for the day was grad student Will Jarrell at heavyweight. 
• In the final bout against Drexel, Jarrell displayed solid defense in a 3-0 win over Santino Morina. Jarrell's points came from an escape, a penalty and riding time as he held on for the close victory.
• To cap the day, Jarrell posted his fifth pin of the season with a win in 3:52 against Morgan State's Tyler Stewart. \
• Maximilian Leete recovered from a tough sudden victory loss against Drexel, coming back to pin Morgan State's Kevin Lopez in a minute and 18 seconds at 133 pounds. It was Leete's fifth pin of the season and 23rd of his career.
• The pin party continued with a big one for freshman Cael McIntyre against Tommy Fierro of Morgan State. Just 12 seconds in at 141 pounds, McIntyre had Fierro on his back for the win and his first collegiate pin at American.
• Ethan Szerencsits posted his first major decision victory of the season at 149 pounds, winning 11-2 against Morgan State's Aaron Turner.
• At 174 pounds, Lucas White scored a takedown early in the third period against Morgan State's Cortilius Vann for a 6-0 lead, and later won 7-1 with riding time.
• Both Leete (133) and White (174) took their Drexel opponents to sudden victory overtime, but both came out on the wrong end before rebounding for victories in the second dual.
