LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell wrestling team bookended Friday night's match against Lehigh with a pair of wins by Dylan Chappell (149) and Darren Miller (141), but the Mountain Hawks won eight consecutive bouts to win 32-6 at Davis Gym.

Lehigh's run included a fall, three major decisions and a technical fall, as four of its five ranked grapplers ended up victorious.

Chappell's win in the opening bout provided early drama, as the sophomore bounced back from a 4-1 deficit against Lehigh's Manzona Bryant IV and registered a takedown with under 40 seconds to go in the third period to force overtime. He scored another takedown 30 seconds into the extra period for the sudden victory.

Chappell, who recently moved up a weight class, has won nine of his last 10 matches and is second on the roster with 22 wins this season.

Miller, who came in at No. 32 in the latest Intermat rankings, earned Bucknell's one win over a nationally-ranked opponent with a 4-2 decision over No. 23 Malyke Hines. Miller did his scoring in the second period, collecting an escape and a takedown to gain a 3-0 advantage. Hines pulled off a late reversal to draw within one in the third period, but the Bison senior had the riding time point locked up and earned his 17th win of the season.

No. 25 Kurt Phipps put up a fierce fight against Ryan Crookham in the 133-pound bout, and the pair sat tied at 2-2 early in the second period before Crookham used an escape and a takedown to gain a 5-3 lead. Phipps picked up one more point on a stall call with 25 seconds left to close the gap to a single point, but Lehigh won the bout 6-4 and handed Phipps his first loss since Jan. 6.

No. 17 Dorian Crosby (285) was dealt his first dual loss of the season as well, falling 11-0 to No. 29 Nathan Taylor, while Chase Barlow suffered a narrow 9-6 decision at 165.

Bucknell returns to Davis Gym on Friday, Nov. 17 to host Princeton in the final dual of the season.
