Wrestling Takes Down LIU for Conference Victory

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown wrestling trailed LIU, 18-16, with two matches to go and sophomore Drew Clearie earned a pin and classmate James Araneo secured a technical fall to boost the Bears to a 27-18 victory over the Sharks Friday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Clearie got his pin in 5:19 at 174 pounds, also with a pin was junior Aaron Wolk in 1:51 at 197 pounds.
Sophomore Hunter Adrian (133) picked up a 19-5 major decision, while fellow second-years Sam McMonagle (157) and Blake Saito (149) won hard fought decisions.
Araneo came through in the clutch in the final match of the night at 184 with his technical fall to capture the win for the Bears.
