PHILADELPHIA – Penn Wrestling made the trip west for the 2021 MatMen Open. The two-day tournament was created to replace the cancelled Midlands Championships. The MatMen is being held at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
 
After the first session, Penn led the field of teams with 11 grapplers advancing to the quarterfinals. Penn had at least one wrestler advance to the quarterfinals in each weight class.
 
Ryan Miller (125), Michael Colaiocco (133), Ferrante & Composto (141), Anthony Artalona (149), Doug Zapf (157), Lucas Revano (165), Nick Incontrera (174), Neil Antrassian (184), Cole Urbas (197), and Ben Goldin (285) all advanced to the quarterfinals in their respective weight classes. Assistant Coach Mark Hall, representing the Pennsylvania RTC, competed at 184 pounds. 
 
Miller, Composto, Artalona, Zapf, and Hall all advanced to the semifinals. The semifinals will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30.
