Lexington, VA - Hofstra won eight of 10 weight classes including the final seven as the Pride came away with a 28-6 road win at VMI Saturday afternoon. Jurius Clark's major decision victory at 157 pounds snapped a 6-6 tie as Hofstra cruised to the victory.
The Pride moved to 4-3 on the season, while VMI slipped to 4-5.
Dylan Acevedo-Switzer opened the match with an 8-3 win over Anthony Burke to give the Pride an early lead. The Keydets responded with a pair of decision victories at 133 and 141 to take a 6-3 match lead. Noah Tapia tied the score for Hofstra with a 6-3 win over Ryan Vigil at 149 pounds to start the Pride's match-closing win streak. Clark followed with a 12-3 major decision over Josh Yost and Jake Slotnick scored an 11-1 major over Luke Hart at 165 to push Hofstra's lead to 14-6.
Ross McFarland (174), Will Conlon (184), and Nikolas Miller (197) each picked up wins by decision before 22nd-ranked Keaton Kluever closed out the win with a technical fall (20-4) over Tyler Mousaw at 285 pounds.
Hofstra returns to action Sunday afternoon at George Mason. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

-Hofstra is 5-1 all-time against VMI
-Clark scored the final 11 points in his 157-pound match.
-Tapia picked up his team-best 13th win of the season and extended his win streak to six.
-McFarland has won four consecutive matches.
