Wrestling Dominates Columbia with 32-3 Victory

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania returned to dual meet action, hosting Columbia for a 1 p.m. match up at The Palestra on Sunday afternoon.
 
Penn never held back as it came out firing on all cylinders against Columbia. #19 Nick Incontrera got it going with a 10-6 victory over #23 Nick Fine. #32 Neil Antrassian (5-2) and #32 Cole Urbas (8-2) put Penn up 9-0 after the first three weight classes. #33 Ben Goldin posted a 6-0 shutout of Dan Conley and #23 Ryan Miller defeated #15 Joe Manchio for a victory (4-2).
 
#12 Michael Colaioco dominated from the start earning a 14-4 major decision over #26 Angelo Rini (4-2) putting the Quakers up 19-0. #15 CJ Composto continued to the Penn dominance as he pushed the lead to 24-0 with a tech. fall win (20-5). #20 Anthony Artalona earned a 5-2 win by decision and #21 Doug Zapf followed that up with a major decision victory (20-5) giving the home team a 32-0 lead. It was a battle at 165 pounds as #15 Joshua Ogunsanya won by a 3-2 decision ended the home teams' chance of its first shutout since a 39-0 victory against Cal Baptist (Feb. 17, 2018).
 
The victory at home was Penn's first win in The Palestra since a February 16, 2020 win over Franklin & Marshall (27-18).

Penn heads out on the road for its next three dual meets. Next weekend the Quakers continue Ivy action with matchups at Brown (Jan. 28) and at Harvard (Jan. 29) to close out January. They will head to Lehigh (Feb. 4) to open the final month of the regular season.
