LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell wrestling team secured a big 41-9 win over Morgan State Saturday at Davis Gym, securing eight of 10 bouts and posting bonus points in each win. It was the team's fourth straight dual victory to improve to 5-3 (1-0 EIWA) on the season.

The Bison registered three tech falls, two major decisions and three pins over the Bears (1-11), who are in their first season of competition since the program was brought back after a 25-year hiatus. Morgan State's nine points came from a narrow 7-6 decision at 125 and an injury default at 157.

Myles Takats (174), Mikey Bartush (184) and Logan Deacetis (197) each recorded pins in consecutive order, helping the Bison extend their lead and seal the match. Each had sizable leads before their pins, and each did it in the second period.

Morgan State's early 3-0 leads came by way of a comeback, as Bucknell's Grayson McLellan jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first period of the 125 bout. The Bears' Isaac Sheehan whittled his way back into it and took the lead with a takedown in the final 17 seconds of the third to win it. The Bison quickly erased the deficit with back-to-back tech falls and a major decision over the next three bouts.

No. 17 Kurt Phipps (133) and Dylan Chappell (141) both racked up 20 points in their tech falls. Phipps beat Shawn Ryncarz 20-3 (5:00), and Chappell won 22-7 (6:37) over Tommy Fierro. Phipps improved to an outstanding 15-2 on the season with his win.

Riley Bower (149) followed with a 12-4 major decision, securing the extra point with over two minutes of riding time, and Bucknell led 14-3 before Morgan State could get on the board again. The Bears collected six points at 157 thanks to an injury default in the first period.

No. 19 Noah Mulvaney kicked off Bucknell's 27-0 scoring run over the final five bouts with a 15-5 major decision over Jake Marsh. The freshman earned his 20th win of the season on Saturday and has lost just three times. Lastly, No. 27 Dorian Crosby picked up his sixth tech fall of the season, 17-0 (3:57) over Tyler Stewart to end the day. The senior heavyweight leads the Bison in the category.

Bucknell returns to Davis Gym on Sunday, Jan. 21 to host EIWA foe American at 2 p.m. The dual will be broadcast on ESPN+.
