BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The LIU wrestling team could not have scripted a better start to the season.
The Sharks defeated Buffalo 19-15 and Sacred Heart 28-10 on Saturday in dual matches at Wranglemania.
Against Buffalo in the morning,
Robbie Sagaris (125, 1-0),
Christopher Betancourt (133, 4-1),
Devin Matthews (141, Fall 1:30), Corey Connolloy (165, MD 10-1) and
Aeden Begue (285, 6-3) all won.
Then, in the afternoon against Sacred Heart, Sagaras (6-4), Matthews (6-2),
Drew Witham (149, 7-0),
Rhise Royster (157, 5-1),
Blake Bahna (174, 9-3),
Anthony D'Alesio (184, MD 16-6),
John Dusza (197, Fall 1:45) and Begue (4-1) all were victorious.
The Sharks remain in Bethlehem to compete individually on Sunday at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.
