VESTAL, N.Y. – To celebrate its senior class, the Binghamton wrestling completed the home portion of its schedule in style with a 28-9 win over Harvard and a 24-9 win over Brown Saturday at the Events Center.
 
"It was great," said Binghamton Head Coach Kyle Borshoff. "Good team effort. We wrestled really really well in that dual against Harvard. That's a good team. They were 3-2 coming into this match, and they had beaten the University of North Carolina recently. So going into that dual, I thought it was going to be close. And we did a great job winning the close matches and controlling that dual meet from start to finish. So really proud of the team with that effort. Thought we wrestled really well. And then Brown was really scrappy. Those guys came out and they fought hard. So I was proud of our guys to get that second back-to-back win."
 
Highlights

• Micah Roes, Nate Lucier, Brevin Cassella, Jacob Nolan, Lou DePrez, and Cory Day each went 2-0 throughout the night.
• For the second straight meet, Cassella defeated a ranked opponent when he won against No. 30 Joshua Kim of Harvard 5-0. Cassella previously defeated No. 26 Gunner Filipowicz of Army 6-1 on Sunday.
• Day, who entered the doubleheader tied for sixth in the nation in falls against Division I opponents with seven, picked up his eighth of the season after he pinned Harvard's Logan Marrisal to secure the victory for the Bearcats. The pin came 46 seconds into the match, the second-fastest pin of the season for Day. Back at the Franklin & Marshall Open on Jan. 5, Day pinned Hofstra's Danny Church 43 seconds into the match. Day has already set a career high in total pins for a season with 10.
• Jordan Brown recorded his first collegiate dual victory when he defeated Harvard's Jack Crook 10-7.
• The Bearcats finish their home portion of the schedule 5-1, while holding Brown, Buffalo, and Harvard to less than 10 points each.
• Binghamton increased its all-time series lead against both Brown and Harvard to 5-2. This is the final time the Bearcats will face both schools in a dual as EIWA opponents, as the Ivy League announced in December that it will host its own wrestling tournament starting in the 2024-25 season.
• Before its meet against Brown, Binghamton honored seven members of its team as part of Senior Night. The Bearcats recognized Day, Nolan, Dimitri Gamkrelidze, Conner Decker, Tyler Martin, Matt Griffin, and Logan Gumble for their accomplishments on and off the mat.
