Wrestling Tops Sacred Heart, Blake Bahna Wins Journeymen Classic Pool

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The LIU wrestling team produced a dramatic win against Sacred Heart and had a standout performance from Blake Bahna against elite national wrestlers during a successful weekend in Pennsylvania.

On Saturday, Robbie Sagaris (125), Devin Matthews (141), TJ Franden (174), John Dusza (197) and Aeden Begue (285) posted wins to allow the Sharks to edge Sacred Heart, 18-17.

Also that day, LIU got wins from Matthews and Bahna in a 28-6 loss to Buffalo.

Then, at the Journeymen Classic on Sunday, Bahna won his pool against top-tier talent, including topping Army West Point's Dillon Sheehy in the final. Bahna earlier in the day topped highly regarded Cael Valencia of Arizona State.

"We got a bunch of wins against really good people," coach Joe Patrovich said. "It was a great, great tournament."
