Wrestling Defeats Oklahoma Wesleyan for First Dual Victory, 46-10

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Bucknell wrestling team posted five pins and a pair of tech falls in Saturday's 46-10 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan, giving the Bison their first dual win of the season. They improved to 1-1 after opening the season at #11 Oklahoma State on Friday.

The Bison made the most of their trip to Bartlesville, as all eight winning wrestlers scored bonus points. The Eagles picked up a major decision at 125 and won by forfeit at 184.

Kurt Phipps (133), Aiden Davis (149), Nick Delp (157), Myles Takats (174), and Dorian Crosby (285) each posted first-period falls. Braden Bower (141) registered a 16-0 tech fall 2:41 into the match, and Noah Mulvaney posted a 17-1 tech fall by the early portions of the second period.

Phipps' and Bower's victories came against 2023 NAIA Men's Wrestling Championships qualifiers.

Bucknell now returns to Lewisburg to prepare for a matchup with No. 15 Minnesota. The Golden Gophers made their season debut at the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D. on Saturday and saw seven championship performances. Their match at Bucknell on Thursday, Nov. 16 will be their first dual of the 2023-24 campaign.
