FAIRFAX, Va. – The LIU wrestling team saw a depleted roster battle hard on the road against George Mason Saturday. The Sharks, who were missing five starters due to the flu, still won five of eight matches; in the end, two forfeits gave George Mason the 26-14 match win.
"We wrestled without five starters, and we couldn't have wrestled better," head coach
Joe Patrovich said after the match. "We had five wins over some really good guys. It was unbelievable. I'm really, really proud of our guys, particularly our freshmen; they killed it today."
