Toms River, N.J — On Sunday, the Wrestling team traveled to Toms River, NJ, to compete in the Jersey Jostle, which featured 15th-ranked Rutgers, 7th-ranked NC State, Princeton, and LIU.

The Sharks opened with Rutgers. Robbie Sagaris delivered a standout performance, defeating 3rd-ranked Dean Peterson with an impressive 8-3 victory. Despite Rutgers' lineup being filled with nationally ranked wrestlers, the Sharks held their own in many matches but ultimately fell to the Scarlet Knights, 37-3.

In their next match, the Sharks faced Princeton in a closely contested dual that went back and forth until the upper weights. At 141 lbs, Devin Matthews kicked things off for LIU with a dominant 16-1 technical fall over Joe Davi. Later, at 157 lbs, Brayden Roberts tied the dual with a clutch pin over Zander Silva. James Johnston kept the Sharks ahead with a 5-1 victory over Cody Tavaso at 165 lbs. However, the Tigers took control of the match from there.

The Sharks competed with grit and determination, proving their toughness against some of the top programs in the nation.
