EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Brown wrestling team took third place out of six teams at the Cougar Clash hosted by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Highlights for the Bears include Blake Saito taking first place at 149 pounds, Ricky Cabanillas and Jack Bokina coming in second at 149 and 157 pounds respectively, and Timothy Levine claiming third at 141 pounds.
 
The Bears claimed a total of 111.5 team points for their third-place finish. Wisconsin took the overall win with 192.5 points, followed by Northern Illinois in second (129.5), Brown in third, Little Rock in fourth (111.0), SIUE in fifth (110.5), and Bellarmine in sixth (71.0).
 
The Bears had at least one person finish in the top five in seven of the nine weight classes. In addition to the aforementioned wrestlers, Sam McMonagle came in fourth at 141, Lear Quinton took fourth at 285, Reese Fry came in fifth at 125, Nicky Cabanillas claimed fifth at 133, and Harrison Trahan finished in fifth at 165.
