PHILADELPHIA – Penn Wrestling opened up the dual meet portion of its schedule on Friday evening at The Palestra. The Quakers hosted #2 Penn State. Penn took wins at 125, 133, 157, and 285.
Ryan Miller, ranked 24th, opened the evening with a 8-2 decision over Baylor Shunk. Miller went up 2-0 after one and extended his lead to 5-0 after two. He earned three more points in the final period and claimed the 8-2 decision to give Penn the early 3-0 lead.
Michael Colaiocco put Penn up 7-0 after the first two bouts. Colaiocco, ranked seventh, improved to 8-0 on the season as he earned a two-point take down for the victory.
Doug Zapf claimed a victory over Terrell Barraclough to extend the Quakers lead to 10-6. With riding time in his favor, Zapf won by a 4-2 decision to improve to 7-1 on the season.
Penn will use the next few weeks to get ready for Midlands, December 29-30.
