Wrestling's Grit Tested by Glenville State and Bucknell

BALTIMORE, Md. (November 10, 2024) — Morgan State wrestling dropped a pair of duals in their  home-opener duals Sunday afternoon against visiting Glenville State and Bucknell.

The afternoon match against the Pioneers marked a challenging outing for the Bears, who ultimately fell 27-12 in a hard-fought contest.

The day began positively for the Bears (0-2) when Treshaun Tecson took the mat and secured a decisive victory in the 125-pound weight class, defeating Colton Drousias. This early success, however, was short-lived as Glenville State (1-1) rallied to claim the next five matches.  Despite the difficulties faced, Morgan's Darrien Roberts cut into the Pioneers' lead with a narrow 5-4 victory against Hayden Pummel in the 174-pound bout.

The match concluded on a high note for the Bears as Xavier Doolin delivered an impressive performance, pinning Devin Gauldin in the heavyweight division at 285 pounds.
