Wrestling Falls to Princeton, 24-13

PHILADELPHIA - Ethan Wilson pulled off the upset over No. 25 Kole Mulhauser as the Drexel wrestling team fell to Princeton Saturday night, 24-13. The Dragons move to 8-9 on the season after winning their previous four matches. Cody Walsh, Jasiah Queen, Wilson, and Kyle Waterman were all victorious.

Walsh got DU on the board first at 165-pounds against Zander Silva. After falling behind 3-1 in the first, the Cherry, New Jersey native secured the takedown in the second to take the 4-3 lead. Walsh added two more points in the final two minutes to take the 6-3 decision win.

Queen put on another impressive performance at 174-pounds over Xavier Giles. The redshirt freshman took the early 6-1 advantage in the first period. Queen swept the leg to record the first takedown of the bout. Giles made it to his feet, only for the Elizabeth, New Jersey native to quickly take him down again for three points. Queen added two more points in the second, turning the table and getting a reversal, ending the period up 8-2. He was able to get the major over Giles, getting a takedown at the buzzer to collect the 14-4 win.

Wilson earned his second dual victory of the season in the 184-pound matchup against nationally ranked Kole Mulhauser. Wilson got the quick lead, recording a takedown in the opening seconds of the bout. Mulhauser made a quick recovery to earn the escape point. Wilson was able to wrestle down Mulhauser at the edge of the circle once again in the second period, taking a 6-2 lead. The Tiger made a comeback in the last minute of the period, capitalizing off a single leg attempt to tie the match at 6-6. Wilson recorded three more points in the third to get the win, 9-7.

Waterman recorded his third consecutive victory, defeating Dan Jones at 133-pounds. Each wrestler earned a takedown and an escape point to end the first tied at four. Waterman took the lead in the second, flipping the tables and collecting a reversal to go up 6-4. The redshirt senior eventually added six more points to cruise to a 12-6 decision win.
