PHILADELPHIA – Drexel wrestling closed out its regular season in dominant fashion, taking a 23-17 victory against Rider. The Dragons rallied behind six victories to improve to a 6-8 overall record.

DU celebrated the careers of its four seniors prior to the start of the match, including Daniel Grobman, Jared Donahue, Parker Kropman and Bryan McLaughlin.

Drexel recorded it's strongest start this season, taking five straight bouts from Rider. Luke Nichter made his return to the mat at 149lbs, setting the pace for the Dragons with a 9-4 decision. Parker Kropman (16-7) and Evan Barczak (20-7) followed with decision victories of their own, opening Drexel's lead to eight.

No. 8 Mickey O'Malley continued to prove his strength at 174lbs, nailing his 11th pin of the year over Corey Connolly. The redshirt junior improves to 18-2 on the season heading into the conference tournament. McLaughlin gave the Dragons their fifth-straight victory at 184lbs, taking a 10-5 decision from Shane Reitsma.

After trailing 17-0 through five bouts, Rider answered back with a pair of victories at 197lbs and 285lbs for its first points of the day. The Broncs looked like they were going to get a third victory at 125lbs, but Antonio Mininno rebounded in the final minute to secure a fall victory with six seconds left on the clock.

The Broncs found two wins at 133lbs and 141lbs to close out the match but not enough to change the outcome.
