The Navy wrestling team (3-2, 1-1 EIWA) earned a dominating 32-7 victory over Cleveland State (7-5) Sunday afternoon at Woodling Gymnasium, closing out a successful trip to the state of Ohio with a pair of dual victories (def Ohio 21-14). The Mids never trailed in a dual that saw them win eight of the 10 bouts and earn bonus points in five matches.
The Highlights
• Navy used its fifth different lineup in as many duals this season.
• Navy won the first three bouts of the afternoon to take a 13-0 lead that it would not relinquish.
• Though Cleveland State would win two of the next three (149, 165), the 10-point margin (17-7) would be as close as the Vikings could get as Navy closed out the dual by winning the final four matches.

The Series
• Sunday's dual victory by Navy leveled the series against Cleveland State, as both teams have three wins apiece.
• The Vikings won the first three meetings (1977-78-79) in the series, while Navy has now won each of the last three (1996-2021-22).
• Sunday's dual marked just the second time Navy has wrestled at Cleveland State (23-9 win // Jan. 13, 1996), as the Mids are now 2-0 in Cleveland.
A Look Ahead
• Navy will wrestle its final road duals of the 2021-22 campaign next weekend when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to face Columbia (1:00 pm) and Cornell (5:00 pm) on Saturday before closing out the weekend with a 2:00 pm dual at Binghamton on Sunday.
