BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU wrestling team hosted its first dual match of the season Wednesday night at the Pratt Recreation Center, taking on Bloomsburg University. The Sharks would rally in the higher weight classes to win four matches, but the Huskies took the team win, 24-13.
SHARK BITES
- Freshman James Johnston had the first LIU win of the night at 165, beating Cody Harrison, 6-4 to get the Sharks on the board.
- Senior Ryan Ferro followed that with a major decision win at 174, beating Matt Benedetti, 12-4 to get big points for LIU.
- LIU had two thrilling wins at 184 and 197, as both James Langan and Nunzio Crowley eeked out 2-1 victories in the late periods.
- Up next, the Sharks head to the Wilkes Open, Wednesday, December 22.
