#23 Wrestling Cruises to a Dominating 28-6 Win at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – The 23rd-ranked University of Pennsylvania wrestling team cruised to a dominating 28-6 win over its 33rd Street neighbor, Drexel on Sunday afternoon. Penn jumped out to a 19-0 lead after the first five bouts with three bonus point wins at 125, 133, and 149.  
 
Penn jumped out to a 19-0 lead as #24 Ryan Miller opened the dual with a tech fall over Gabe Giampietro. #7 Michael Colaiocco followed with a major decision over Jaxon Maroney and Carmen Ferrante gave Penn a 12-0 lead with a 5-1 decision over. Jordan Soriano.
 
#10 Doug Zapf and #12 Anthony Artalona added to Penn's lead. Zapf used a major decision win over Dominic Findora to earn the win. Artalona posted an 11-4 decision over Tate Nichter to push Penn's lead to 19-0.
 
Drexel needed extra time to earned its first team points of the afternoon as #16 Evan Barczak defeated #32 Lucas Revano in overtime.
 
#13 Nick Incontrera picked up a huge victory over #5 Mickey O'Malley as he built up his riding time and used an escape in the third period to claim a 2-0 decision.
 
#22 Maximus Hale battled a tough opponent in #25 Brian Bonino as he used a takedown in the final period to take a 2-1 lead. Bonino quickly got an escape and then gained the winning point from riding time.
 
Penn closed out the dual with a pair of decision wins from #30 Cole Urbas and #29 Ben Goldin. Urbas battled to a 3-2 decision over Sean O'Malley and Goldin ended the afternoon with an 8-3 decision over Santino Morina.
