Wrestling Defeats Gardner-Webb at Throwdown on the Yorktown
November 08, 2024 | Wrestling
MOUNT PLESANT, S.C. – Army West Point Wrestling started 1-0 in 2024-25 duals with a convicting win over the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at the Throwdown on the Yorktown Friday night.
However, condensation on the mats on the USS Yorktown brought an early end to the evening that was also scheduled to feature a dual vs. The Citadel.
Army was able to make quick work over Gardner-Webb, winning all but two bouts and securing five bonus point wins plus a win by forfeit.
The Black Knights' three Princeton Open champions were a combined 3-0 Friday, with Ethan Berginc winning by fall, Gunner Filipowicz by technical fall and Dalton Harkins by major decision.
