GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- Morgan State wrestling capped off a busy holiday weekend with a competitive showing at a road tri-meet in Garden City, New York, where they finished the day with a split record of 1-1.
The Bears kicked off the competition with an impressive victory against the host Nassau Community College, dominating the match with a resounding score of 46-11. This commanding win was powered by several standout performances, particularly in the form of bonus-point victories. Notably, Myrin Nixon, Kingsley Menifee, Cameron Johnson and Xavier Doolin delivered pins, to go along with exceptional technical falls by Aaron Turner, Josh Greenwood and Cortilius Vann, demonstrating their ability to control the mat and secure points for the team.

The second match, however, posed a greater test of the Bears' resilience as they took on Hofstra. Despite the team's valiant efforts, they faced a narrow 27-19 defeat. The competition was fierce, and several matches were closely contested. Menifee ran his record to 2-0 for the day by securing a gritty win against Gavin Proffitt at 184, and Xavier Doolin punctuated the meet by pinning Danny Church in 3:37.
