ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell wrestling team fell to Navy, 21-12, on Friday night at Alumni Hall.

The Midshipmen (4-5, 2-4 EIWA) snapped the Bison's (11-4, 6-2 EIWA) eight-dual winning streak away from Davis Gym by taking six of the 10 bouts contested. Navy was bolstered by a four-bout winning streak between 174 and 285 pounds and had all three of its ranked grapplers emerge triumphant.

No. 19 Zach Hartman (165) picked up his 20th victory of the season with his 7-1 decision over Val Park. The senior, who also moved to 12-1 (6-0 EIWA) in dual competition, registered six of his seven points in the opening frame, picking up a quick takedown and then recording four back points; he also rode out Park for the entire second period to lock in the riding-time point.

Brandon Seidman (125) scored a clutch 3-1 decision over Jacob Allen in sudden victory to keep Bucknell's comeback bid alive. The senior needed just 30 seconds to score the deciding takedown, snapping the Midshipmen's four-bout winning streak and moving his own dual record to a strong 11-4 (7-1 EIWA). No. 26 Darren Miller (141) and standout freshman Kolby DePron (149) scored back-to-back victories, cutting the Bison's deficit to 18-12. DePron's 8-3 decision over Tyler Hunt was his team-best 21st victory of the season; Miller added a 2-1 decision over David Kreidler in one of the night's three extra matches.

Kurt Phipps (133) gave No. 26 Josh Koderhandt a battle but ultimately ceded a 7-1 decision, his first loss in an EIWA dual this season. His EIWA dual record is now 7-1; his overall dual record is 12-3.

Entering its dual with Navy, Bucknell was 6-0 in away duals and 2-0 in neutral-site duals, both of which took place at George Mason's Patriot Duals. The Midshipmen became the first team to defeat the Bison away from Davis Gym during the 2021-22 campaign.

Bucknell returns to the mat on Sunday with a 2 p.m. dual against American. Before their home finale, the Bison will honor their six seniors: Hartman, Seidman, Frank Houser, Noah Levett, Brett Rezendes and Ty Williams.
