ARLINGTON, Va. (Nov. 17, 2024) -- Morgan State men's wrestling had a busy weekend starting with a matchup at Lehigh on Saturday, followed by a pair of NCAA Division I foes (Marymount and VMI) on Sunday afternoon. Despite two tough losses, the Bears were able to notch their first team win of the season inside the Converse Family Fieldhouse.
The Bears wrestling team celebrated a significant milestone this season as they recorded their first team victory by overpowering host Marymount with a decisive score of 40-10. The match showcased a number of wrestlers stepping up across various weight classes to secure crucial wins. From the opening matches, the Bears established dominance and never let up.
However, the momentum shifted when they faced the Cadets, known for their formidable wrestling program. Battling hard inside the Converse Family Fieldhouse, the Bears put forth a valiant effort, but ultimately fell short against VMI, 32-9. Although the outcome was disappointing, the experience gained from competing against such skilled opponents is invaluable as Morgan continues to refine their techniques and build towards future competitions.

The Bears will square-off in the XFINITY Center Pavilion against the Maryland Terps on next Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m. The dual will be broadcast live on BIG+.
