FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team dug itself too big of a hole to climb out of Sunday against Bloomsburg. The Huskies topped the Pioneers, 34-11.
The loss dropped the Pioneers to 0-10. The Huskies improved to 4-9
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 22-0 lead after the first four matches.
Stopping the Huskies' run was
Nick Palumbo at 157 pounds. He dominated John Reho in the first and third periods for the 18-2 tech fall. A take down in the final minute of the 165-pound bout gave
Aidan Zarrella the 4-3 win over Trenton Harder.
Takedowns in the first and second periods lifted
Ryan Bolletino to the 6-3 decision over Anthony DeRosa at 174 pounds. Unfortunately, that was the last match the Pioneers would take as Bloomsburg won the remaining three bouts.
