Wrestling Defeats Princeton 20-13, First Win Over Tigers Since 2015

PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team earned its first win against Princeton since February 21, 2015. On Saturday, Penn defeated Princeton 20-13 at the Dillon Gymnasium on the campus of Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. With the win Penn improves to 6-2 in dual meet action as Princeton drops to 5-4 overall.
 
#20 Ryan Miller was pitted against #1 Patrick Glory and Glory showed why he was ranked #1 at 125 pounds as he picked up a 12-2 major decision. Leading 4-0 after the first bout Penn's #9 Michael Colaiocco got the first Penn win of the day as he won by a 15-11 decision over Nicholas Kayal. Penn took its first lead as #16 CJ Composto won by major decision over Danny Coles this would be lead Penn never lost. Carmen Ferrante came in and wrestled at 149 pounds for the second time this season. Ferrante made his presence known as he battled back to win. Trailing 4-2 after the first, he used an escape in the second and added a point for riding time to sent it to overtime. Soon after overtime started, Ferrante got the takedown for the win.
 
#20 Lucas Revano picked up a major decision victory and #18 Nick Incontrera won by an 11-4 decision to push Penn's lead to 17-7. Princeton made it interesting cutting the Penn lead to three as the home team won at 184 and 197 pounds making it 17-13 in favor of Penn. #28 Ben Goldin secured the victory with a 10-4 decision.
