BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team opened the 2024-25 season on an exciting note, defeating Presbyterian College by a final score of 32-11 on Sunday afternoon.

• Sacred Heart got its revenge against Presbyterian, defeating them on their home turf this afternoon after falling last year to the Blue Hose, 29-21. 
• The Pioneers jumped out to a commanding 12-0 lead following three straight wins by Felix Lettini at 157lbs, Mike McGhee at 165lbs, and Aidan Zarrella at 174lbs.
• The Blue Hose tallied their first three points of the match at 197 pounds as Caleb Roe defeated Hunter Perez by decision, 9-4.
• SHU then claimed the next four matches at 197lbs, 285 lbs, 125 lbs, and 133 lbs.
• Presbyterian won the final two matches of the day by tech fall and decision.
• Lettini, McGhee, Zarrella, Trovato, Brendan Gilchrist, Mike Manta, and Andrew Fallon have set the stage for a promising season, opening with a 1-0 record following today's wins.
