WASHINGTON - Three individual wins were a highlight for American University wrestling, but not enough against a strong Air Force team and the Eagles fell 28-13 to the Falcons in front of a crowd of 447 at Bender Arena. The Eagles now stand at 7-10 for the season, while Air Force improves to 8-4.

Notable

• Freshman Caleb Campos earned a major decision victory at 165 pounds, his team-leading sixth of the season, against freshman Seamus Casey. 
• Campos got the first takedown early and led 5-3 after the first period. His escape in the second was the only point scored in that frame, but he added two more takedowns and a two-point near fall in the third along with the crucial riding time point for a 12-4 victory.
• Wrestling up a weight class and winning was freshman Raymond Lopez, who weighed in at 133 but took on 141-pounder Garrett Kuchan of Air Force. It was quite a comeback win as Lopez trailed 5-2 after two periods, but dominated in the third with an escape, a takedown and a four-point near fall for the 9-6 victory.
• Despite looking strong with a 5-3 lead late in the third period, for redshirt junior Connor Bourne it turned into a second-straight day with a win by injury default at 197 pounds.
• Bourne and Air Force junior Calvin Sund had just 30 seconds remaining when a collision affected both wrestlers but forced Sund out of the bout.
• Sophomore Carsten Rawls put up a strong fight at 184 pounds and had it tied up at 1-1 in the third period, but ultimately lost 3-1 to junior Noah Blake.
