Wrestling Routs Morgan State, 35-8

BALTIMORE, Md.- The Bucknell Bison wrestling team (2-1) welcomed Morgan State (0-2) to the EIWA with a decisive 35-8 victory. The Bears - who joined the EIWA this fall as the 12th member - won the first and last dual but the Bison dominated every other match en route to the comfortable win. 

Five of Bucknell's eight victories came via a technical fall with Kurt Phipps (133) and Dylan Chappell (141) recording 17-0 scores. Myles Takats (174) provided a nice 18-1 victory. Logan Deacetis also reached 18 points in his win at the 184 pounds as did Dillon Bechtold (197) in his 18-3 victory. 

Chappell's and Phipps's victories arrived after Morgan State won the first dual when Treschaun Tecson defeated Grayson McLellan. The two Bucknell stars kickstarted the Bison effort of eight straight wins. Braden Bower (149) defeated Yannis Charles, 10-7. Cade Wirnsberger (157) picked up the win via an 8-0 score. Creed Thomas (165) edged Sam Diggs, 11-9. 

Morgan State's Xavier Doolin concluded the match with a 12-4 win over Logan Shephard but the Bison had already guaranteed the match victory. 

The Bison head to the Land of 10,000 Lakes on Nov. 15 to face Big 10 powerhouse Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are ranked No. 13 in the latest NWCA poll.
