Bearcats fall to Spartans, 29-6, late rally comes up short against Hoosiers, 25-16.

NEWARK, N.J. - Binghamton wrestling (1-5) dropped a pair of duals against Big 10 teams at the Garden State Grapple on Sunday afternoon. After struggling against Michigan State, the Bearcats started slow against Indiana, trailing 15-0. The Bearcats continued to battle, but a late comeback attempt against Indiana fell just short. Binghamton received back-to-back wins by fall from No. 25 Jacob Nolan at 184 pounds and No. 7 Lou DePrez at 197 pounds to close the gap to three points going into the final bout.

Highlights vs. Michigan State

  • Sam DePrez won his second straight dual of the season with a 6-3 decision over Lucas Daly at 174 pounds.

  • At heavyweight, Cory Day won his fifth dual match of the season with an 8-4 decision against Ryan Vasbinder.

Highlights vs. Indiana

  • Dimitri Gamkrelidze cruised to a 13-4 major decision win at 165 pounds to pick up his first dual win of the season.

  • No. 25 Jacob Nolan recorded his first pin of the season to pick up the win at 184 pounds.

  • At 197 pounds, No. 7 Lou DePrez picked up his second pin of the season to improve to 5-1 in duals.
"We got some nice individual wins, but as a team we need to start wrestling for each other as much as ourselves," head coach Kyle Borshoff said. "Dual wins need full team efforts and we didn't have that today. We have a lot of season left and we will need to make some adjustments while school is on break to turn this dual season around."
