All-Americans (NCAA 5,3,2,7) and one of ten four-time champions in

Nationals. The same year, Mike beat Iowa’s Lou Banach, 10-3,
before the Hawkeye finished NCAA 4,1,1 at Hwt. As a junior at
NCAAs, Mike beat future Olympic Greco champion, Steve Fraser, 13-3,
in the quarters then won 12-5 over 4-time All-American, Howard
Harris, who’d win OW in 1980 with five straight falls at
heavyweight. As a sophomore 3rd place finisher, Brown
eliminated Fred Bohna, 13-3; in 1979 Bohna won NCAAs at hwt.
Mike was 95-12 for his career and
