      DR. DAVID L. HIRSCH, Cornell ’94 won three EIWA titles at 126 and placed fifth and first at the NCAAs.  He won Nationals for 1st-year coach, Rob Koll, after beating #2 seed, Sanshiro Abe (NCAA 4,3,2,1 from Penn State and Japan). Hirsch was Cornell’s first champion since 1960 and the fifth to win a title. He set a school win record (41-3), with a career mark of 112-17. As senior, David was named the EIWA’s Outstanding Wrestler and winner of the Fletcher Memorial Trophy for career points.  A three-time All-Ivy selection, Hirsch (a team tri-captain) was named Ivy League Wrestler of the Year, the Cornell Daily Sun Athlete of the Year and Ithaca Journal Male Athlete of the Year in 1994. 

      The West Nyack, NY native graduated from Clarkstown South, where he won titles at NY States and Northeast Junior Olympic championships. Dr. Hirsch holds M.D. and D.D.S. degrees and is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in NYC while  residing in Montebello, NY.
