      MICHAEL LIEBERMAN, Lehigh ‘76 won no National Prep titles at Blair Academy, then at Lehigh placed once at Easterns in two tries, fifth as a freshman in 1973.  His 2-year win-loss record was 20-14-1, then after red-shirting, Michael won two EIWA titles and placed NCAA 1st and 3rd. His 1976 national title comeback win was the last college loss suffered by Iowa’s 2-time NCAA champion and World champ, Chris Campbell. As a senior, Lieberman placed third three months after a cracked neck vertebrae after Midlands. Returning February 14, his semi-finals defeat to 2-time NCAA 2nd, Mark Johnson of Michigan, ended a 37 bout win streak, fourth-longest in Lehigh history.

      Mike’s record for his last two years was 46-3, winning 39 of his last 40. An Allentown native, Lieberman worked in advertising, the former Chairman of L-A Advertising, at its peak the largest ad agency in Northeast PA.  A generous and active supporter of his university and of Lehigh Wrestling, he is a former president of the Lehigh Wrestling Club.
