Jacob Cardenas earned Wrestler of the Week by going 3-0 in weekend duals, including a shutout victory over 2023 NCAA 3rd place finisher Rocky Elam.
On Sunday in its home dual vs. undefeated No. 2 Missouri, No. 8 Cardenas (197 pounds) sealed the victory for Big Red with a 4-0 win over No. 3 Rocky Elam, a three-time NCAA All-American. Elam is the second-highest-ranked opponent Cardenas has beaten during his career.
On Saturday, Cardenas posted two dominant wins in home Ivy League dual meets.
