Hofstra's Kyle Mosher named EIWA Wrestler of the Week

Hofstra's Kyle Mosher (165) earned EIWA Wrestler of the Week by posting a 2-0 record on a busy Saturday filled with travel to two sites for three dual meets.

The day began with a trip to NYC for Hofstra's dual meet vs. Columbia. Mosher started the dual in the first match of the day at 165 lbs.  He got the day off on a high note for Hofstra when he scored a solid 4-1 victory over No. 27 Cesar Alvan. Although Mosher set the tone for his team, Hofstra was unable to pull off the victory in a 32-10 loss to the Columbia Lions.  Mosher and the Hofstra team then loaded up the bus and headed to their next stop, Nassau CC on nearby Long Island for a tri-meet with Nassau and Morgan State.

Mosher continued his winning ways at Nassau where he posted a pin over Cooper Lockhart of Morgan State. His pin helped Hofstra secure a 27-19 dual meet victory over EIWA Independence Division rival Morgan State.

Mosher sat out the final dual of the day where Hofstra defeated Nassau CC 45-4.

First year Hofstra Head Wrestling Coach Jamie Franco was pleased with Kyle's wrestling. He said, "Kyle's performance yesterday was a great way to close out the first half of the season. He's really starting to hit his stride over the past few weekends, especially after placing at Vegas and securing a big win against his former teammate at his alma mater. It's been incredible to watch his growth and determination, and we're excited to see what he does the second half of the season."
