Soriano knocked off two nationally ranked opponents in big dual meet victories!
Drexel's Jordan Soriano picked up two ranked victories to help Drexel go 2-0 in weekend matches.
On Friday, Soriano took on 15th ranked Dylan Chappell in a critical match at 141 lbs. Chappell was the EIWA runner-up and an NCAA qualifier at 141 lbs last year. Soriano nearly pinned Chappell in the second period as he ended with a 8-5 advantage going into the final two minutes. The Westbury, New York native fought off a strong attack from the EIWA finalist, adding two escape points to hold on for the decision win 10-8. His upset win played a big part in Drexel's victory over Bucknell 20-13.
Soriano followed up this performance one day later defeating 29th ranked Mckenzie Bell to help Drexel take down Rider 21-12. Soriano wrestled a complete match on back-to-back nights as he secured the winning takedown on Bell in the third period as time expired.
