Ivan Garcia beat the reigning EIWA Champion at 149 lbs. to earn Wrestler of the Week honors.

In his battle with No. 17 Ethan Fernandez, Garcia held his own against the reigning EIWA champion. With the score tied at one in the third period, after both wrestlers scored escapes, Garcia picked up the offensive attack against Fernandez. His attack paid off in the form of a second stalling call against Fernandez late in the frame, giving Garcia a stalling point. Garcia held off Fernandez in the final seconds for a 2-1 victory. It was his third win against a ranked opponent this season. 

Binghamton coach Kyle Borshoff said of Garcia, "Ivan has done a great job this season of being relentlessly offensive. He continues to adjust and improve every match."
