Lehigh freshman Matty Lopes picked up an impressive ranked win, defeating No. 28 Kurt Phipps 3-2 at 133 lbs. to earn EIWA Wrestler of the Week honors.

Trailing 1-0 in the third period Lopes used a nice foot sweep to take down Phipps and secure the win against the NCAA round of 12 senior from Bucknell.

Lehigh head coach Pat Santoro has this to say about Lopes, "Matty has stepped in and has done an incredible job, he works hard and he is making big jumps each week.  He loves wrestling and he has a great mind for the sport."
