EIWA Recap at the NCAA Championships - Day 1

The NCAA Championships began today in Philadelphia. The EIWA was well-represented by 28 wrestlers. The conference advanced 5 wrestlers in the quarterfianls. One more win will secure an All-American finish. Sheldon Seymour of Lehigh went 2-0 on the day to secure a trip to the quarterfinals. He will face top seed Luke Lilledahl of Penn State. Lilledahl has a 4-1 win over Seymour this season. 

Navy's Josh Koderhandt will wrestle in the quarterfinals as well. He squares off with Northern Iowa's Cael Happel – the 5th seed. These two have never wrestled.  

Koderhandt's teammate at 174lbs, Danny Wask, will also compete in the quarters. He faces a tough task in returning NCAA Champion, Levi Haines of Penn State.   

Lehigh's Michael Beard finds himself in the quarter finals again. He will face Penn State's 4th seed, Josh Barr. This is a rematch from November's dual where Barr won via major decision.  

Lehigh's third quarterfinalist is Owen Trephan. He will take on Iowa's Ben Kueter, who came in as the 5th seed. These two have never met.
